Centre Extends AFSPA to Three Arunachal Districts and Select Areas in Namsai

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced today that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) will now apply to three districts in Arunachal Pradesh and to a few areas within Namsai district. AFSPA grants the armed forces special powers in regions where insurgency or armed conflict is a concern.
