The Ministry of Home Affairs has set up dedicated cybercrime cells in the districts of Jamtara (Jharkhand) and Mewat (Haryana) to strengthen digital policing and curb online fraud.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has inaugurated cybercrime cells in the districts of Jamtara in Jharkhand and Mewat in Haryana.

The new units will be staffed with trained investigators and equipped with advanced forensic tools to track and prosecute online fraudsters.

Officials say the cells aim to provide faster response to cyber incidents and to strengthen cooperation with local police and financial institutions.

According to the ministry, the initiative has already helped recover over ₹11,000 crore that would have otherwise been lost to fraud.
