The Union government has released ₹682 crore as advance tax devolution for the state of Manipur, a move welcomed by the state’s finance minister.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance announced that ₹682 crore has been released as advance tax devolution for the state of Manipur. The amount is intended to support state development projects and meet fiscal obligations.
Manipur’s Finance Minister, Khemchand, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar for the timely disbursement. He highlighted that the funds will help bridge budget gaps and accelerate infrastructure initiatives.
The advance tax devolution is part of the central government’s fiscal policy to provide states with predictable revenue streams. It follows a series of similar allocations to other northeastern states earlier this year.
