The Union government has approved a fund of Rs 475.41 crore to modernise and expand industrial training institute clusters across Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi has cleared a budget of Rs 475.41 crore for the upgradation of ITI clusters in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The allocation is aimed at strengthening the infrastructure of existing industrial training institutes and creating new centres to meet the region's skill development needs. The funding will be channelled through the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which will oversee the implementation of the upgrade plan. State authorities are expected to prepare detailed project proposals and submit them for disbursement in the coming weeks. The move is part of a broader effort to boost vocational training and improve employment prospects for youth in the area.
