The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Sikkim staged a protest march calling for the dismissal of Chief Economic Advisor Mahendra P Lama.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) – Sikkim unit (CAP Sikkim) organized a march in the state capital on Tuesday, demanding the removal of Chief Economic Advisor Mahendra P Lama. The protest, which began at 10 a.m., saw several hundred party cadres and supporters walk through the streets, holding placards that read "Remove Lama" and "Reform Economy". CAP Sikkim leaders cited alleged mismanagement of state funds and a lack of transparency as reasons for their demand. The march concluded with a rally at the state assembly premises, where party representatives delivered a formal letter to the Chief Minister’s office. The Chief Minister has yet to respond to the letter, and the party has called for an immediate review of Lama’s performance.
