Cabinet Approves ₹3,175.08 Crore for Four‑Lane Expansion of NH‑167 in Telangana

The Telangana cabinet approved a budget of ₹3,175.08 crore on Tuesday to widen National Highway 167 to a four‑lane carriageway. The project covers the stretch between Nizamabad and Karimnagar and is expected to reduce travel time by up to 30 percent. The funding will be allocated to the State Highways Department and the National Highways Authority of India for design, land acquisition and construction. Officials said the expansion will enhance safety, support freight movement and boost local economies along the corridor. Work is slated to begin in the next fiscal year with completion targeted by 2028.
