A bulldozer accidentally ruptured a gas pipeline in Bihar, causing an explosion that left two people dead and six injured.
A bulldozer operating in a remote area of Bihar struck an underground gas pipeline, causing the pipe to rupture and ignite. The sudden blast was heard by nearby residents, who rushed to the scene as flames and smoke rose from the site.
Emergency services arrived within minutes and reported two fatalities and six injuries, several of which were serious. Victims were transported to the nearest hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the construction equipment inadvertently damaged the pipeline, triggering the explosion. No evidence of foul play has been found so far.
State officials have ordered a thorough safety audit of all gas infrastructure in the region and have pledged compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured.
