BSF jawan Manish Kumar Singh, a native of Ratnapur, Begusarai, died on Wednesday in a Kupwara hospital after a sudden illness during duty. He had been on a ventilator for two days.

BSF jawan Manish Kumar Singh passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment at a hospital in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The soldier, who was on duty in the volatile region, suffered a sudden deterioration in health that led to his admission.

Manish, originally from Ratnapur in Begusarai district of Bihar, had been serving with the Border Security Force in the area for an unspecified period. He was taken to the medical facility after his condition worsened during routine duties.

According to the BSF, Singh was placed on a ventilator for approximately two days before his condition could not be revived. The force confirmed his death and expressed condolences to his family and colleagues.

The incident underscores the health risks faced by security personnel deployed in high‑altitude and conflict‑prone zones, where immediate medical support is often critical.
