The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi has written to the Election Commission seeking details on the schedule for registering graduate voters for the upcoming Legislative Council elections in Telangana.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has formally approached the Election Commission of India, requesting a clear timetable for the registration of graduate voters ahead of the Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Telangana. The party’s letter, submitted earlier this week, asks for specific dates and procedural guidelines to ensure that eligible graduate electors can enrol without confusion.
Graduate constituencies form a distinct segment of the MLC electorate, and their voter list is compiled separately from the general roll. BRS officials said that a transparent schedule is essential to avoid delays that could affect voter turnout and the overall credibility of the election process.
The Election Commission has not yet responded publicly, but it is expected to issue a notification clarifying the registration timeline in the coming days, as the state prepares for the upcoming council polls.
