Two brothers have introduced the handpan to Bengaluru’s music lovers, organising performances and workshops that are drawing growing audiences.
Two siblings have taken the relatively unknown handpan, a tuned steel percussion instrument, onto Bengaluru’s musical stage. By arranging regular live shows and hands‑on workshops, they have created a niche platform that is attracting both seasoned musicians and curious newcomers.
Their efforts have turned the handpan from a novelty into a recognizable sound in the city’s eclectic music circuit. Local cafés and cultural venues now feature the instrument in their line‑ups, and the brothers’ sessions are regularly attended by a diverse crowd eager to experience its resonant tones.
The duo’s initiative reflects a broader trend of independent artists shaping Bengaluru’s cultural landscape, where grassroots projects are increasingly influencing mainstream tastes. Their work not only expands the city’s musical repertoire but also provides a fresh avenue for aspiring percussionists to explore.
As interest grows, the brothers plan to expand their outreach with more collaborative concerts and possibly a dedicated handpan studio, further cementing the instrument’s place in the city’s artistic map.
