Members of the Brahmin community in Abu Road staged a protest over the allocation of tickets for the municipal election, burning effigies of the district presidents of the BJP and Congress.

In the town of Abu Road in Rajasthan's Sirohi district, a group of Brahmin community members assembled at the Parshuram Dharmshala in Brahmpuri colony to express dissatisfaction with how tickets for the upcoming municipal election were allotted.
The demonstrators erected and set fire to effigies of the district presidents of both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress, signalling their anger at the perceived bias in candidate selection.
Party officials have not issued a detailed response, but the protest highlights growing intra‑party tensions as local leaders vie for nominations ahead of the polls.
The municipal election, scheduled in the near future, could see its dynamics altered if the parties reconsider their ticket distribution strategy in response to the community's outcry.
