Brahmaputra Infrastructure has been awarded the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for the NH‑502A corridor in Mizoram, as announced by the state government. The contract covers the upkeep of the 30‑kilometre stretch that connects the state’s capital with the border town of Serchhip.
The NH‑502A corridor is a critical link for trade and mobility, linking Mizoram with Assam and the rest of the Northeast. Securing the O&M contract is expected to improve road safety and reduce travel time for commuters and freight operators.
Brahmaputra Infrastructure, a joint venture between the state’s infrastructure development authority and a private sector partner, has experience managing highways across the Northeast. The company has previously handled O&M contracts for NH‑44 and NH‑2 in the region.
The state government said the contract will be executed over a five‑year period, with regular inspections and maintenance activities scheduled to keep the corridor in good condition. The move is part of a broader effort to upgrade the state’s road network and boost economic connectivity.
