Patna police said that 23‑year‑old Jairam Chauhan, reported missing on Tuesday night from the vicinity of Bikram, was discovered dead in the Son Nahar early Thursday. The body was recovered by a search team that had been deployed after the disappearance was reported.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) had been conducting a coordinated sweep of the canal and surrounding areas since the youth went missing. When the remains were found, family members immediately voiced suspicion of foul play and gathered at the Bikram‑Bihata road to block traffic, demanding a swift investigation.
