The remains of 20‑year‑old Agniveer Samudra Singh Gurjar, missing since Aug 14 after a cloudburst in the Pashupani area of Dibang Valley, were recovered after 80 days.

Alwar’s 20‑year‑old student Agniveer Samudra Singh Gurjar vanished on August 14 when a sudden cloudburst hit the Pashupani region of Dibang Valley district, Arunachal Pradesh. Search teams from the district administration, along with local volunteers, combed the rugged terrain for weeks but found no trace. On November 2, officials announced that the missing youth’s body had been recovered, confirming his death after an 80‑day search.

Authorities said the recovery was made near the spot where the cloudburst had been reported, suggesting the young man was caught in the flash flood. The district police have opened a case of accidental death and are conducting a post‑mortem to establish the exact cause of death.

Family members in Alwar, who had been hoping for his safe return, were informed of the grim news. The incident has revived concerns over the safety of trekkers and locals in remote Himalayan valleys during the monsoon season, prompting calls for better early‑warning systems.

The district administration has pledged to assist the family with necessary arrangements and to review disaster‑response protocols in the region.
