Residents of several districts in Chhattisgarh reported a striking blood‑red glow in the sky on October 31, a phenomenon shared on X and likened to the TV series ‘Stranger Things’.
On October 31, social‑media users from multiple districts in Chhattisgarh posted photographs and videos showing an unusual blood‑red hue covering the sky. The posts, uploaded on X, described the sight as reminiscent of the eerie ambience from the popular series “Stranger Things”, and many users linked it to the Halloween celebrations.
Local authorities have not issued an official explanation yet, but meteorologists suggest that a combination of dust particles, high humidity and low‑level atmospheric scattering could produce such a vivid coloration. Similar phenomena have been recorded in other parts of India during seasonal dust storms.
The visual spectacle quickly went viral, drawing comments from residents who described a mix of awe and unease. While some speculated about supernatural causes, experts emphasized the natural atmospheric processes that can temporarily alter sky colors.
No reports of health hazards or disruptions were noted, and the red glow faded by early evening as the sun set. Officials advised the public to stay informed through official weather updates.
