Black dog attacks Shivpuri, bites over 35 people including children; captured by municipal team

A stray black dog roamed several areas of Shivpuri, injuring more than 35 people, among them children, before the municipal team apprehended it.
A black stray dog caused panic across multiple localities in Shivpuri, including Manier, Gurudwara Chowk, Luharpura and the Radha Raman temple area of Old Shivpuri. The animal is reported to have bitten more than 35 individuals as it moved from one spot to another.
Among the victims were several children, prompting families to rush the injured to nearby health centres. Local doctors confirmed that most bites were superficial but required wound cleaning and tetanus prophylaxis; a few cases needed suturing.
Shivpuri municipal authorities deployed a response team that tracked the dog and captured it without further incident. Officials said the animal will be handed over to the animal welfare department for a health check and appropriate action, while urging residents to report stray animal aggression promptly.
