The BJP released its pledge document for the 2026 Rajasthan Panchayati Raj elections, promising to upgrade every gram panchayat to a ‘city‑village’ and to provide an annual cash grant of Rs 12,000 to farmers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled a formal pledge letter on Sunday as it gears up for the 2026 Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan. The document, released from Jaipur, outlines the party's key commitments aimed at rural development and farmer welfare.
Among the promises, the BJP has pledged to reclassify every gram panchayat in the state as a ‘city‑village’, a designation intended to bring urban‑level amenities and infrastructure to traditionally rural areas. The party says the move will streamline funding, improve civic services and boost local economies.
In addition, the BJP announced a direct cash scheme that will grant each farmer in Rajasthan an annual amount of Rs 12,000. The scheme is presented as a measure to augment farm incomes and provide a safety net amid fluctuating agricultural markets.
The pledge letter positions these initiatives as central to the party's campaign narrative, signalling a focus on rural upliftment ahead of the upcoming local body polls.
