BJP rallies and INDIA bloc protest cause citywide traffic gridlock in Delhi

Several BJP events were staged across Delhi on Saturday, coinciding with protests organized by the INDIA alliance. The simultaneous political gatherings forced the closure of key arterial roads and diverted traffic onto secondary routes, resulting in a citywide gridlock that persisted for most of the day.

Commuters reported long queues at major intersections and delays of up to several hours on routes that normally see moderate traffic. Public transport services, including the Delhi Metro, experienced higher passenger loads as many opted to avoid road travel.

Delhi traffic police deployed additional personnel to manage the flow and issued advisories urging residents to plan alternate routes or use mass transit where possible. The congestion eased only after the political programs concluded in the evening, allowing traffic to return to normal levels.
