The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a slate of eight fresh candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha election, replacing all incumbent MPs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a new list of eight candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh. The announcement comes as the state prepares for the upcoming election to fill its representation in the upper house of Parliament.
In a decisive move, the party has removed every sitting Member of Parliament from its ticket, opting instead for a completely fresh lineup. The eight names released by the BJP have not been previously holding Rajya Sabha seats from the state.
Party officials said the reshuffle aims to inject new energy and broaden the party's appeal ahead of the election. The decision underscores BJP's strategy to refresh its parliamentary representation from Uttar Pradesh, a key state in national politics.
The list was disclosed through official party channels, and no further details about the individual candidates have been released at this stage.
