BJP Leads in Assam and West Bengal By‑elections, Early Counts Show

Early vote tallies from the by‑elections held in Assam and West Bengal show the Bharatiya Janata Party maintaining a lead over its main opponents. Election officials released partial counts on Saturday, indicating that the BJP is ahead of the Congress in Assam and ahead of the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. The party’s performance comes ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections, adding momentum to its national campaign. Opposition parties have called for a full verification of the results, but the current data suggests a favorable trend for the BJP. The Election Commission has scheduled the final declaration of results for later this week.
