Senior BJP figure Satyanarayan Sattan and local residents met the DCP in Indore, pressing for strict measures against illegal drug operations in Kandilpura and Malharganj.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Satyanarayan Sattan visited the Indore Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) together with residents of Kandilpura and Malharganj. The group raised concerns over a growing illegal drug market in the two neighborhoods, alleging that the problem is being ignored by the administration.

Sattan accused the state government of allowing the drug trade to flourish, saying that traffickers are emboldened by a lack of decisive action. He called for immediate, stringent steps such as intensified raids, stricter monitoring of supply chains, and swift prosecution of those involved.

The DCP responded by assuring that the police force will launch a “tough crackdown” on the identified drug networks. Officials said they have already begun gathering intelligence and will coordinate with state agencies to dismantle the operations.

Local residents expressed relief at the promise of action, noting that the drug menace has affected youth and contributed to rising crime in the area. The meeting underscores the political pressure being applied to law‑enforcement agencies to address the issue promptly.
