Shivraj Chouhan slammed Congress leader Kharge for allegedly undermining constitutional institutions, while affirming the integrity of the Election Commission appointment process and the reliability of electronic voting machines.
At a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, BJP state chief Shivraj Chouhan accused Congress leader Ajay Kumar Kharge of attacking constitutional institutions.
Chouhan said Kharge’s remarks were aimed at undermining the integrity of the Constitution and the democratic process, calling them a “dangerous trend” that could erode public trust.
He defended the appointment process of the Election Commissioners, stating that it remains transparent and merit‑based, and reiterated that electronic voting machines (EVMs) are reliable and have been used successfully in past elections.
The comments come ahead of the upcoming national elections, with both parties sharpening their rhetoric on governance and democratic safeguards.
