The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named its candidate for the Bankipur assembly by-election in Bihar. Continuing its trend of surprising choices during candidate announcements, the party has fielded Abhishek.
Abhishek belongs to the Kayastha community, a demographic group previously represented by the party in the constituency. However, his selection comes as a surprise, as he was not widely anticipated or prominently featured in media discussions leading up to the announcement.
The decision to nominate Abhishek is seen as another instance of the BJP's strategy to spring unexpected candidates in Bihar's political landscape.
