The Bharatiya Janata Party secured a dominant victory in Gandhinagar’s civic polls, winning 38 of the 44 contested seats, while the Indian National Congress managed only five.

The municipal elections in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, concluded with the Bharatiya Janata Party emerging as the clear winner. Out of the 44 seats up for grabs, the BJP captured 38, reinforcing its strong foothold in the state’s capital.

The Indian National Congress secured only five seats, reflecting a modest presence in the civic body. The remaining seat was won by an independent candidate, rounding off the composition of the new municipal council.

Election officials declared the results on the same day the votes were counted, and the BJP’s sweeping win is expected to shape local governance priorities for the coming term.
