Senior leaders of the BJP and TIPRA Motha say the alliance decision remains unchanged despite a deadlock at the grassroots level, where local talks are being used to gauge support.
Senior figures from both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the TIPRA Motha Party have publicly affirmed that the overall decision on a possible alliance in Tripura will not be altered, even as negotiations at the local level have reached an impasse.
Party officials report that grassroots committees in several districts are conducting informal discussions with party workers and community leaders to "test the waters" and assess the level of acceptance for a joint electoral front.
The stalemate has raised questions about the timing of any formal alliance announcement ahead of the next state assembly elections, but both parties have indicated that they will continue the dialogue without committing to a definitive partnership at this stage.
Analysts note that the deadlock reflects divergent expectations among senior leadership and local cadres, and that the outcome could influence vote shares in key constituencies across Tripura.
