Bihar: Youth Drowns in Son River, Body Recovered After Hours

A 19-year-old boy, Rishu Kumar, drowned in the Son River in Bihar's Arwal district after getting trapped in a deep pit formed by sand mining. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered his body after an extensive search.
Tragedy struck in Arwal district of Bihar on Sunday when 19-year-old Rishu Kumar drowned in the Son River. The incident occurred at the Ahiaapur Lakh Ghat. Kumar had gone to the river with three friends for a bath.
He reportedly got caught in a deep pit, a consequence of sand mining operations in the area, and was unable to escape. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was engaged to conduct a search for the missing youth.
After several hours of searching, the SDRF team successfully recovered Kumar's body. The incident has caused immense grief and mourning within the family.
