Bihar to Launch ₹100-Crore Women’s Skill Institute and International Centre for Overseas Jobs

The state government has announced a ₹100‑crore investment to set up a women’s skill development institute and a Skill India International Centre aimed at facilitating overseas employment.
Bihar has unveiled plans to establish a ₹100‑crore women’s skill institute that will offer vocational training tailored to the needs of female job seekers. The centre will be part of the national Skill India initiative and is expected to provide courses in areas such as hospitality, healthcare, and information technology.
Alongside the institute, the state will launch a Skill India International Centre designed to connect graduates with overseas employers. The centre will host job fairs, partner with foreign recruitment agencies, and provide pre‑departure training.
The project is part of Bihar’s broader strategy to boost employment for women and to tap into global labour markets. Officials say the facilities will be operational by the end of 2025, with the first cohort of trainees expected to start in early 2026.
"This initiative will empower women with the skills and opportunities needed to succeed both locally and abroad," a state spokesperson said.
The investment reflects the central government’s push to expand Skill India’s reach to underserved regions and to create a pipeline of skilled workers for international demand.
