The Bihar government is deploying fast‑charging stations for electric vehicles, with a completed site in Purnia, ongoing construction in four districts, and installations planned at ten government premises in Patna.

The state of Bihar has announced a rollout of fast‑charging infrastructure to support the growing number of electric vehicles on its roads. A fully operational charging station has already been commissioned in Purnia, marking the first milestone of the project.

Construction work is under way in four additional districts, where new charging points are being built to create a contiguous network across the region. These sites are expected to become operational in the coming weeks, extending fast‑charging access beyond the initial location.

In the capital, Patna, the government is installing fast‑charging units at ten of its own premises, including administrative complexes and public service buildings. This move aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles among government fleets and set a precedent for private operators.

Officials say the expanded network will reduce range anxiety for EV owners, promote cleaner transportation, and align with national sustainability goals.
