Bihar has established 4,800 new dairy committees, of which 2,150 are operational, boosting daily milk collection to 91,000 kg and total storage reaching 2.5 million litres.
Bihar has expanded its dairy network by forming 4,800 new dairy committees under the SuDhA initiative, a move aimed at enhancing milk production and supply chain efficiency across the state.
Of the newly created committees, 2,150 are already operational, enabling a significant increase in daily milk collection. The committees collectively gather an additional 91,000 kilograms of milk each day.
The cumulative storage capacity has risen to 2.5 million litres, reflecting the success of the network’s expansion and the growing participation of farmers in organized dairy cooperatives.
State officials say the strengthened network will improve market access for dairy farmers, stabilize milk prices, and support rural livelihoods.
The SuDhA program continues to focus on training, infrastructure development, and quality control to ensure sustainable growth in Bihar’s dairy sector.
