The Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department has instructed divisional officers to correct all incomplete jamabandi records in their online portals by October 31, without awaiting any rebate applications.
Patna, Oct 24 – The Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department issued a circular directing all divisional land‑record officers to update and finalize any incomplete jamabandi entries visible on their departmental login portals. The correction must be completed no later than 31 October, the department said.
Officials are required to verify ownership details, area measurements and revenue classifications for each pending record and upload the corrected data directly to the state’s land‑records management system. The directive emphasizes that the process should not be delayed awaiting the submission of raayat (rebate) applications, which will be processed separately.
The move aims to improve the accuracy of land‑ownership data, reduce disputes and facilitate smoother delivery of government schemes that rely on up‑to‑date jamabandi information. The department has asked senior officers to monitor progress and report compliance before the deadline.
Failure to meet the deadline could attract administrative action, according to the circular, underscoring the government’s push for digitised and reliable land records across Bihar.
