The Bihar government has launched a scheme that rewards content creators with Rs 1 lakh when a video they produce garners at least 100,000 views.
The state of Bihar announced a new digital outreach programme that will pay Rs 1 lakh to any influencer whose video reaches a minimum of 100,000 views on recognised platforms. The initiative is aimed at leveraging social media reach to promote the state's cultural and developmental narratives.
Under the scheme, creators must register on a government portal, submit proof of viewership and comply with content guidelines before the payment is processed. The amount will be transferred directly to the creator’s bank account after verification.
Officials said the scheme is expected to attract both local and national creators, encouraging them to produce high‑quality content about Bihar’s heritage, tourism and public services. The government hopes the financial incentive will spur a surge in user‑generated videos that showcase the state’s initiatives.
The programme will run on a pilot basis for the next six months, after which the administration will assess its impact and consider extending or modifying the offer based on participation levels.
