Minister Arun Shankar Prasad said the previous Lalu‑led administration delayed industrial growth, and that post‑infrastructure development is now attracting factories and jobs.

Bihar's industry portfolio minister Arun Shankar Prasad publicly held the former Lalu‑Prasad Yadav government responsible for the state's sluggish industrial expansion. He argued that policies and delays during the twenty‑year tenure hindered the establishment of manufacturing units and limited job creation.

According to Prasad, recent improvements in roads, power supply and logistics have finally created a conducive environment for investors. He noted that several new plants are now under construction and that employment opportunities are on the rise as a direct result of these infrastructure upgrades.

The minister urged the current administration to maintain momentum, emphasizing that sustained investment in connectivity and utilities will be crucial for turning Bihar into a regional industrial hub.

His remarks came during a press briefing in Patna, where he also called for private sector participation to accelerate growth. No specific figures on new projects or job numbers were disclosed.

Analysts view the statement as a political reminder ahead of upcoming elections, but also acknowledge the tangible shift in the state's industrial landscape after years of neglect.
