A man from Bihar allegedly journeyed 2,000 km to kill his father, reportedly inspired by the film Drishyam 3. A single phone call led to his arrest.
A man from Bihar is accused of traveling approximately 2,000 kilometres to murder his father, an act that authorities say was inspired by the film Drishyam 3. The alleged motive, according to police statements, stemmed from a perceived desire to emulate the film’s plot.
Investigators say the suspect made the long journey in a rented vehicle, arriving at the victim’s residence in a different state before carrying out the act. The murder was discovered when a neighbour reported a suspicious call made from the victim’s phone.
A single phone call, traced by telecom records, provided the evidence that led to the suspect’s arrest. Police confirmed that the call was made from the suspect’s mobile device and was linked to the time of the incident.
The case has been forwarded to the local crime branch for further investigation, and the suspect is currently in custody awaiting charges under the Indian Penal Code. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name or the exact location of the crime.
