Bihar Issues Orange Weather Alert for 10 Districts Amid Expected Rain and Thunderstorms

On Thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange weather alert for ten districts in Bihar, including Patna, in anticipation of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The alert, which is the second highest level of warning, covers districts such as Patna, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, and others. The IMD forecasted that the region will receive intense showers that could last for several hours, potentially leading to localized flooding. In response, the department urged residents to stay indoors, secure loose objects, and avoid traveling on roads prone to waterlogging. The alert also warned of possible lightning strikes and advised people to keep away from tall structures during storms.
