The state has placed 7,348 nurses, including 4,888 women and 2,460 men, in government hospitals following BTSC recommendations.
Patna, Oct 9 — The Bihar government has completed the posting of 7,348 staff nurses across its public health facilities, a move aimed at strengthening the state's healthcare delivery. The cohort comprises 4,888 female and 2,460 male candidates selected through the Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC).\n\nThe BTSC, which conducts examinations and recommends candidates for various state services, cleared the nurses after a merit‑based selection process. The newly appointed nurses have been distributed among district hospitals, community health centers and primary health centers to fill long‑standing vacancies.\n\nState officials said the deployment is expected to alleviate the chronic shortage of nursing staff, improve patient‑to‑nurse ratios and enhance overall quality of care in government hospitals.\n\nThe appointment underscores the government's focus on expanding human resources in the health sector as part of its broader effort to improve public health outcomes in Bihar.
