State officials estimate that about 48.22 lakh people are now directly affected, with many families forced to abandon their homes and seek shelter in temporary camps. Agricultural fields and livestock have also suffered extensive damage.
The Bihar government, in coordination with the National Disaster Response Force and the Indian Army, has launched relief operations that include evacuation, distribution of food packets, and medical assistance. Relief camps have been set up in safer zones, and efforts are ongoing to restore essential services such as electricity and drinking water.
