In a review meeting, District Magistrate Anand Sharma expressed displeasure over the non-functional piped water schemes and defective hand pumps. The meeting revealed that 288 piped water schemes and 280 hand pumps are not working properly in the district. The District Magistrate has sought an explanation from the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) regarding the poor condition of the drinking water system.
