Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary met senior police and administrative officials in Patna, directing a focused response to the surge in criminal activity, cyber offences and exam irregularities in the state.
The Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary, convened a high‑level meeting with senior police officers and senior officers of the state administrative services in Patna today. The gathering was prompted by opposition criticism over a perceived rise in ordinary crime, cyber‑related offences and irregularities reported in competitive examinations across the state.
During the session, the CM instructed the police to intensify patrolling in crime‑prone districts, accelerate the registration of first‑information reports, and deploy additional personnel to monitor known hotspots. He also directed the creation of a dedicated cyber‑crime cell within the state police to track online fraud, hacking incidents and the misuse of digital platforms.
The chief minister further asked the administrative cadre to audit the conduct of recent competitive exams, tighten security at examination centres, and establish a real‑time grievance redressal mechanism for candidates. A review of the implementation of these measures is slated for the next fortnight, with progress reports to be presented to the cabinet.
By coupling traditional policing with enhanced cyber capabilities and stricter exam oversight, the government aims to curb the upward trend in criminal activity and restore public confidence in law‑and‑order institutions in Bihar.
