Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the opposition's claims regarding the Special Investigation Report are unfounded.
Patna, Bihar – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday rejected the opposition's accusations that the Special Investigation Report (SIR) was manipulated, calling them baseless and politically motivated. Kumar made the remarks during a press briefing at the state secretariat, where he emphasized that the report had been compiled in accordance with legal procedures and that no evidence supported the allegations of tampering.
The opposition parties had earlier demanded a fresh inquiry, alleging that the SIR omitted critical details about recent law‑and‑order incidents in the state. Kumar countered that the report's findings were already under judicial review and that any further speculation would only distract from governance priorities.
He urged all political stakeholders to focus on development and public welfare rather than pursuing unsubstantiated claims. The CM also announced that his administration would cooperate fully with any legitimate investigative bodies to ensure transparency.
