Chief Minister Nitish Kumar praised the Union's approval of more than 11 lakh housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for Bihar.
Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed appreciation for the central government's approval of more than 11 lakh housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for the state.
The approval, announced by the Union Housing Ministry, will enable the state to allocate the sanctioned units across its various phases, aiming to meet the government's goal of providing affordable homes to the urban and rural poor.
Kumar said the move will accelerate the completion of pending projects and improve living conditions for thousands of families, urging the state administration to ensure transparent and timely delivery.
The centre's decision also aligns with the broader national objective of achieving "Housing for All" by 2022, and Bihar officials are expected to submit implementation plans in the coming weeks.
