The Special Task Force and district police have detained Chandhan Singh, the prime suspect in the murder of retired customs officer Ramkumar Singh in Bhojpur, Bihar.
The Special Task Force (STF) and Bhojpur district police arrested Chandhan Singh at Dumdum Airport on Thursday, following a series of investigations into the murder of retired customs officer Ramkumar Singh. Singh is accused of orchestrating the killing, which took place in Bhojpur earlier this year.
Ramkumar Singh, who had served in the customs department for over two decades, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Police allege that Singh was involved in a dispute with the officer, leading to the fatal incident.
After the arrest, Singh’s wife publicly requested a fair and impartial inquiry, asserting her husband's innocence and demanding that the investigation be conducted without bias. She has called for transparency in the handling of the case.
The authorities have stated that the investigation will continue, with the STF overseeing the probe. A formal charge sheet is expected to be filed once all evidence is compiled.
