Bihar Bridge Collapses

The collapse of the bamboo bridge, also known as a 'chachri' bridge, has severed the connection between Sikta and Majhauia blocks in West Champaran district. The bridge was built with the help of local villagers and was the only means of crossing the river for thousands of people. With the bridge gone, people are now forced to find alternative and risky routes to cross the river. Children are particularly affected as they have to risk their lives to attend school.
