The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been assigned to lead a statewide initiative aimed at improving sanitation and strengthening flood‑preparedness in Odisha.
The Odisha government has designated its twin urban centres, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, as the lead agencies for a new cleanliness and flood‑preparedness mission across the state. Municipal authorities from both cities will coordinate with district administrations, local NGOs and community groups to roll out systematic waste‑management, solid‑waste segregation and regular cleaning drives.
In parallel, the mission will focus on upgrading drainage infrastructure, constructing flood‑resilient pathways and installing early‑warning systems in flood‑prone districts.
