On Wednesday, Bhopal’s traffic will be redirected from 9 am as Durga idol immersion begins at major ghats, with processions starting at 8 pm, leading to road closures and diversions.
The municipal traffic police have announced a revised traffic plan for Bhopal on Wednesday. From 9 am, immersion of Durga idols will commence at the city’s main ghats, prompting the closure of adjoining roads and the diversion of vehicular movement to alternate routes.
The evening procession, known as the "Jhankis," is scheduled to start at 8 pm and will move through the central arteries of the city. Police have earmarked specific detour corridors to accommodate the flow of both private and public transport, while restricting entry to certain lanes near the procession path.
Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use the designated diversion routes, and follow on‑ground signage. Authorities have also deployed additional traffic personnel to manage crowd control and ensure smooth movement throughout the day.
