The city of Bhopal will celebrate the Chhath Mahaprav from 13 to 16 November, with preparations underway at Prempura, Nilbad and Shitaldas ki Bagiya near Bada Talab.
Bhopal’s municipal authorities have announced that the Chhath Mahaprav will be observed over four days, beginning on 13 November and concluding on 16 November. Organisers are focusing on the ghats at Prempura, Nilbad and the Shitaldas ki Bagiya area near Bada Talab, where temporary structures, lighting and sanitation facilities are being set up.
The schedule includes daily rituals at sunrise and sunset, with devotees expected to gather in large numbers to offer prayers to the Sun God. Local residents have been instructed to cooperate with volunteers who are coordinating crowd management and waste disposal.
In addition to the main ghats, several residential colonies across the city are preparing auxiliary arrangements such as community halls and open spaces to accommodate worshippers who cannot reach the riverfront. Police and health teams have been deployed to ensure safety and hygiene throughout the festival period.
The authorities have also issued guidelines for traffic diversion and parking to minimise congestion around the event sites. The coordinated effort aims to provide a smooth and reverent experience for participants while maintaining public order.
