Investigations into a Bhopal hotel construction contract uncovered fake invoices worth Rs 1.46 crore, prompting police to file FIRs against three suspects.

Police in Bhopal have launched a probe into a multi‑crore hotel construction contract after auditors found a stark mismatch between billed amounts and actual work. The construction firm submitted invoices totaling roughly Rs 1.96 crore, yet field verification revealed that many of the claimed tasks were either incomplete or entirely missing.

Further scrutiny showed that the firm had fabricated bills amounting to about Rs 1.46 crore, which were allegedly collected from project partners under false pretences. The discrepancy raised concerns of systematic fraud and financial misappropriation within the project.

Based on the evidence, the police registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against three individuals believed to be involved in preparing and submitting the bogus invoices. Investigators are now tracing the flow of the siphoned funds and have warned that additional arrests could follow as the case unfolds.
