The new airport, located near Visakhapatnam, is still under construction and is expected to become operational in the next few months. Once fully functional, it will serve as a major aviation hub for the eastern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.
International routes are planned to connect the airport with key cities in the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia, thereby boosting tourism and trade links for the state.
