A photograph resembling freedom fighter Bhagat Singh appeared on the electoral roll of Ludhiana East, prompting Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring to seek clarification from authorities.
A photograph that bears a striking resemblance to the iconic freedom fighter Bhagat Singh was discovered on the electoral roll for the Ludhiana East Assembly constituency. The image is attached to the entry listed as serial number 422 in Part 38 of the voter list.
Congress leader Amarinder Singh Raja Warring raised the matter publicly, questioning how such a picture could appear on an official document and urging the election authorities to investigate the anomaly.
Election officials responded by stating that the photograph was mistakenly attached to the voter’s record and does not represent an authentic portrait of Bhagat Singh. They clarified that the error will be corrected in the next update of the roll.
The incident has sparked a brief debate about the accuracy of voter lists ahead of upcoming elections, with officials assuring that systematic checks are in place to prevent similar oversights.
