On July 25, Bengaluru experienced a city‑wide power cut as the electricity board carried out scheduled maintenance. The outage affected several key neighbourhoods and was expected to be resolved by evening.
On Thursday, July 25, residents of Bengaluru were plunged into darkness when the city’s power supply was deliberately shut down for routine maintenance.
The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation (KPTC) announced that the outage would affect several major commercial and residential zones across the city.
The power cut began in the early afternoon and was projected to last until the evening, during which time the board worked to upgrade transformers and replace aging infrastructure.
Electricity officials urged residents to plan for the interruption and to keep essential appliances powered by generators or batteries.
By late evening, most of the affected areas reported restoration of power, though a few pockets remained without electricity until the next day.
