The Board of Control for Cricket in India has formed a panel of ex‑national selectors to pick Bihar's state cricket teams for upcoming domestic competitions.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the creation of a selection panel comprising former national team selectors to oversee the composition of Bihar's cricket squads. The move aims to bring experienced oversight to the state's player selection process ahead of the forthcoming domestic season.
According to the BCCI announcement, the appointed ex‑selectors will evaluate talent across the state and recommend squads for tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Their involvement is expected to standardise selection criteria and align Bihar's teams with national standards.
The decision reflects BCCI's broader effort to strengthen cricketing structures in emerging cricketing regions. While the names of the former selectors have not been disclosed, the board emphasized that their prior experience at the national level will benefit the development of local talent.
